2011, ‘Gendering anti-immigration politics in Europe’, international conference ‘Re-strengthening global sisterhood: Emerging women’s issues for a new global agenda’, organised by Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington (USA), FEPS (Foundation for European Progressive Studies) and Foundation Jean Jaurès, Washington. NOTE: Participants included members of the European Parliament, the President of PES (Party of European Socialists) women’s lobby and members of FEPS (Foundation for European Progressive Studies: its partners are national progressive political foundations and think tanks from different EU States).

2010, invited participant in a meeting with staff members of OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) in Paris, to present the research project ‘The EU, North America, and the Challenge of Global Policymaking for Migration and Care Work’ and to discuss policy initiatives that might flow from this project.

2009, invited participant at the workshop of the GEMMA project ‘Enhancing Evidence Based Policy-Making in Gender and Migration’, funded within the 6th Framework Programme of the European Union, February, London. This project brings together academics, policymakers and members of NGOs working on issues of gender equality, racism and international migration in several European countries.

2009, consultant in the project ‘Care crisis’, which brings together artists, art curators and academics from various disciplines (sociology, economics, gender studies), based in different European countries, who work on issues of international migration, gender and care work. The result of this project included a series of art performances and exhibitions.

2008, participant in expert consultation in the ‘Delphi group’ organised by the NGO CeSPI, Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale (Centre for studies in international politics) Rome, Italy, about ‘transnational welfare’, the ‘care crisis’, social policies and international migratione.

2006, consultant for UNESCO, Sector for Social and Human Sciences, International Migration and Multicultural Policies Section, Paris, France, on the “Migration Without Border” scenario.
