Research

My research agenda tackles questions related to the determinants and consequences of people's social and economic mobility over the life course. It centers round the following questions:
1. Can we see a de-stratification of economic risk in contemporary societies?
2. Which are the determining factors contributing to patterns of cumulative life course disadvantage?
3. What is the role of the institutional context in mediating life course risks?
These research interests expand on the work of my doctoral thesis, in which I studied the dynamic aspect of poverty and its implications for our understanding of social stratification.
My work is based on the analysis of large-scale secondary household panel datasets such as the BHPS, GSOEP and EU-SILC.
