I am a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in European Politics at the Centre of Comparative and International Studies (CIS) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich in Switzerland. I am currently at the European University Institute (EUI) Florence in Italy as a Max Weber Fellow.

My current research projects explore innovative venues and mechanisms for the promotion of democracy that arise from the potential democratizing effects of transgovernmental networks linking sub-units of administrations from democracies and the 'non-democratic world'.

My work appears in the Journal of European Public Policy, Democratization, European Foreign Affairs Review, Zeitschrift für Internationale Beziehungen, and other academic journals.
