I am a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Fort Hare, East London, South Africa, and an Iso Lomso Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (2019 - 2022). Previously, I was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute (Sept 2015 - Dec 2016). I completed my DPhil in 2015 at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, working with Prof. David Miller and Prof. Cecile Fabre. My DPhil investigated the responsibilities that citizens have in light of global injustice.
My current research continues to focus on global injustice and citizenship. I am working on a series of articles on the duties between states, as well as pursuing a book project entitled: Citizenship in a Globalized World. I have also contributed to the debate around the brain drain crisis and, most recently, the evolution of South African Citizenship Law.
