[Currently, 2021-2022, visiting at Department of Resource Econmics at University of Massachusetts-Amherst]
I am an Assistant Professor at University of Barcelona-School of Economics where I am affiliated with the Econometrics, Statistics and Applied Economics Department as part of the Public Policies Section
In 2015 I was awarded with the Max Weber fellowship at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy), where I carried out research on the EU climate policy as an Associate Researcher of the Florence School of Regulation-Climate (FSR-Climate).
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (2013), a M.Sc. in Industrial Organization from the same university (2009) and a BA in economics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2007).
My research interests lie at the intersection between climate policy, inequality economics and environmental economics. From a macro point of view, I am interested in disentangling how the current global economy shapes natural resource distribution among countries, and in turn, how this natural resource distribution shapes global environmental governance and economic development.
In a more micro perspective, my research interests include ex-post policy evaluation, again with a special emphasis on distributional impacts from environmental policies. Of particular relevance in this area is the analysis of how environmental policies (carbon taxation and emissions trading systems) differentially impact households according to their economic status.
#keywords: Ecological economics; Environmental economics; Climate change economics; Policy evaluation; Causal inference (in any field!).
